Are you guilty of not washing your face every night before bed?

I think it's safe to say that us women don't wash our face EVERY night before bed. You come home late on a Friday night and the last thing you want to do is go wash your face before you go to bed and fall asleep. In reality our laziness could be costing us a lot more than a couple of minutes of sleep that we don't want to loose. Studies have shown that every night you do not take off your makeup by washing your face your skin ages at least 6 days. The makeup will settle deep into your pores causing them to clog and prevent cell renewal as well. 

If the least you can do before you go to bed is at least use a Facial Cleansing Wipe then it is a must. For those late nights when you absolutely can't fathom washing your face, we have a great tip! Now the best way to take care of your skin at night is to try your best not to go without washing your face. Again, we can't stress enough how much damage it does to the skin which causes premature aging and even clogged pores. A few simple steps at night can take less than 5 minutes and make sure that when you go to bed your skin will be fresh feeling and 100% clean. 

1. The first thing you should do is use a cleanser to remove your makeup as well as dirt or oil. To do so use a cleanser to do so.  Merle Norman offers a variety of cleansers that are suited just for your skin. Whether you have oily, dry, sensitive, acne-prone, or aging skin we have the perfect cleanser for you. Wet your face and in circular motions use your fingers to apply the cleanser to the face avoiding the eye area for 60 seconds. Then rinse your face thoroughly with at least 5 splashes of water to ensure that all cleanser is removed!
2. Next grab a toner that is suited for your skin type. Apply the toner to a fluff puff or cotton ball and wipe all over the face avoiding eye area. This will make sure any extra makeup or dirt will be removed and will also tighten pores as well.
3. Last but not least MOISTURIZE. Whether it be our Wrinkle Smoother Line or even just our NightTime Recovery Cream  make sure that you apply moisturizer.

Professional Makeup Tips

Here are some great tips to achieve the looks below from our GORGEOUS Prom girls of 2012. 

Brianna is wearing a gorgeous Blue and Black Smokey Eye. Anna Katherine concentrated on making her eyes pop by going dramatic and smoking out the eyes. First a base color of Bare was applied to give an overall even color all over the lid. Next she applied Cobalt to the lid using an eyeshadow sponge applicator. Then an eyeshadow in Ebony was applied to the corners of the eye. To achieve a smokey sexy look, AK used a "V" motion concentrating on the outside corners of the eye. The black was then blended along the upper and lower lash line to smoke out the look. A highlighting color in Cloud Nine was then applied underneath the brow to accentuate her great brows. AK lightly filled in her brow in a Powder Brow pencil in the color Taupe. Filling in brows may seem scary but it helps frame your face for an overall finished look. Next AK focused on her lips by using a lipstick color in Cranberry lined in a Cocoas liner.

What is Eyebrow Threading?

Eyebrow Threading is an ancient method of hair removal.  Threading originated in the Middle and far East parts of India.  

Eyebrow threading is very precise for an eyebrow shape that frames your face. Also once you thread you will never go back to any other method or hair removal.

How Does it Work?
