Does your makeup need a little freshening up? The good news is that you don’t need to reapply your foundation. You can achieve a freshly made-up look with a little concealer and a sponge.  • Simply dab a small amount of concealer like Creamy Concealer in the middle of your forehead, at outer and inner corners of your eyes, along the bridge of your nose and on top of your chin.  • Use a foundation sponge to “buff out” concealer; starting in the T-zone, blend it out toward the edges of your face using circular motions. This not only provides coverage in crucial areas, it gives the face added definition, and creates a halo effect for a glow that every woman wants!

Step 1. Start of with Merle Norman's Lip Revive. Give your lips the full treatment with moisturizing, anti-lining and anti-feathering benefits. Step 2. Next you have lots of great choices to get that red lip that is perfect for you. No matter if you choose the Creamy, Age-Defying, or Lip-Glaze Lipsticks, Lip Polish, or our Lip Pencil Plus all in the color Hussy you want to make sure you line your lips. Using small short gentle strokes line your lips with our Age Defying Lip Liner in the color Hussy. Make sure to use the short strokes as opposed to drawing the liner straight on the lips. This trick will avoid it looking too un-natural. Next you want to fill in our lips with one of the Lipsticks or the Lip Pencil Plus. It's ok if you go a little outside the lines and have a few smudges. We will work on that next. If you want more of a glossy look, apply Lip Polish in Hussy to set off the look. 

Step 3. Lastly you want to use our Creamy Concealer to go around the lips lightly to clean up any smudges that occured. Use a sponge to just lightly apply the concealer. The concealer will also act as a highlighter to brighten up around the lip area to also draw attention. 

And VIOLA. You now have a Perfect Red Lip that will be Kiss Proof and all night!

Our Must-Know Makeup Secrets! SHHHH...

Make sure to invest in Quality Brushes. Makeup Brushes are like a good bra. The nicer and better quality bra it is you will get a better lifted look. Same applies when it comes to finding the right makeup brushes. You want to make sure that your getting the best of the best for your money. At Merle Norman we carry an entire line of brushes from foundation to lip. All brushes have a lifetime guarantee as well.

Here are the eight basic brushes you need:

1. Foundation brush
2. Concealer brush
3. Fluffy powder brush
4. Blush brush
5. Small blending brush
6. Flat eyeshadow brush
7. Precision angle brush
8. Lip brush

 You want brushes that are going to make your application easier and look better. Also you need to take care of your brushes properly to ensure that they stay perfect for a long, long, time. My trick is to make sure you set a day aside each week for cleaning your brushes. Whether it be Sunday night before starting the week or even every Saturday make sure to pick a day when you have at least 10 minutes to wash your brushes thoroughly. To wash your brushes properly clean each brush head using a dish cleaner like Palmolive, Dawn, Joy, etc...which ever you prefer. This will get rid of any oil, residue, or dirt on the brush. Make sure you wash each brush for a minimum of 20-30 seconds then rinse completely to remove all of the soap. Next you want to use a paper towel/bath towel to dry the bristles getting out most of the moisture. Lastly you want to lay your brushes on a paper towel to dry. The drying process will take at least a few hours to dry completely. Voila, you have now successfully cleaned your brushes  and they will be just like brand new!
